Iakovina Kindylidi, Beatriz Assunção Ribeiro and Martim Farinha (Knowledge Lawyer) contribute to the 2024 edition of NOVA School of Law's Data Protection Yearbook with articles on emerging topics in the area of personal data protection. Published by the Data Protection Observatory, the yearbook is an open-access legal journal that publicises legal studies on the right of personal data protection.
 
Iakovina Kindylidi and Beatriz Assunção Ribeiro present the article ‘Metadata, Fundamental Rights and the New Portuguese Regime’, in which they discuss the basic concepts associated with metadata and analyse the new legal regime approved in Portugal, in the light of the Digital Rights Ireland of the Court of Justice of the European Union and Constitutional Court ruling 268/2022.
 
Martim Farinha signs the article "‘Consent or Pay’ - A New Chapter in the Saga of Personal Data as a Consideration in Contracts for the Supply of Digital Content and Services", in which he analyses the legal issues raised by the adoption of the “Pay or Consent” model for processing personal data in digital services.
