Guilherme Oliveira e Costa signs the article entitled "Has the Deutsche Telekom's Saga come to an end? The Court of Justice confirms European Commission's duty to pay interest (C-221/22 P)", published in EU Law Live.

In this article, Guilherme Oliveira e Costa analyses the recent decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union, which confirms the European Commission's obligation to pay interest on fines for competition infringements that have been paid by companies, but subsequently annulled or reduced by the courts of the European Union.

Guilherme Oliveira e Costa explains that: "This judgement predictably puts an end to the Deutsche Telekom saga, which is a fine example of how the system of checks and balances works in EU law. The Court both confirms infringements as reduces fines, as well as seeks to effectively protect undertakings’ rights".
