João Vieira de Almeida, Mariana França Gouveia and Miguel Lourenço e Silva are participating at the 17th Congress of the Arbitration Centre, to be held from July 3 to 5 in the Salão Nobre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The theme of this edition of the Congress is "Arbitration and Mediation in Perspective", and it will also cover topics such as arbitration and the new frontiers of technology, class actions and third party funding in arbitration, the standards of the arbitrators' duty of disclosure based on the Halliburton/Abengoa case and some successful cases in mediation and recent case law on arbitration.

On the first day of the Congress, 3 July, João Vieira de Almeida will be interviewing Mariia Puchyna, Senior Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, on the topic of "Mental health and work-life balance in the legal professional". Miguel Lourenço e Silva will then participate in the launch session of the collective work "Arbitragem, 2 Mundos - Diálogo entre Brasil e Portugal" (Arbitration, 2 Worlds - Dialogue between Brazil and Portugal).

As President of the Arbitration Centre, Mariana França Gouveia is responsible for the opening session of the Congress.
