On May 8, the grand finale of the AI.Moot Court 2.0 took place at the VdA Lisbon office.

The team from the Faculty of Law at NOVA University Lisbon is the winner of the second edition of AI.Moot Court, a leading competition combining law and technology, organised by VdA Academia in collaboration with YouLearn Academy, which challenges students to participate in a mock trial using Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The grand finale of the competition took place at the VdA Lisbon office, and the awards ceremony was hosted by Inês Antas de Barros.

This second edition of AI.Moot Court featured 96 students from seven different countries representing seven universities. Throughout the different stages of the competition, written and oral arguments were evaluated by a panel of VdA attorneys: Betyna Jaques, Guilherme Oliveira e Costa, Iñaki Carreira, Ivanna Gomes, Martim Farinha, Sara Pinto Ferreira, António Aguiar Cortês, Gonçalo Pacheco Vilela, Rodrigo Pacheco Bettencourt, Ricardo Ramos Lourenço, Joana de Simas Leite, Joana Vasconcelos Peixinho, Regina Lourenço Baptista, and Sara Martins. Professors Ana Rita Gil, João Azevedo, Martinho Lucas Pires, and Ricardo Oliveira also participated as external judges.

The competition allows students to practice the application of Public International Law by resolving a practical case, while developing essential skills such as drafting pleadings, legal research, interaction with AI, oral presentation, argumentation, and procedural strategy.
