On 15 April, a conference was held on ‘The Relevance of the Protection of Industrial Property Rights in the Pharmaceutical sector’ organised by Apifarma, the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Industry Association, and VdA.

The conference aroused interest in the press, and Jornal de Negócios highlighted the declarations of the President of the Commercial Court on the numerous cases that this Court cannot rule on in good time, and of António Magalhães Cardoso, who explained the legal action taken by industry companies holding patents and their non-subversion of the system due to the use of legal means offered for the protection of their rights, by means of administrative actions and injunctions that have been granted by the Courts.

Diário Económico also heard Paulo Pinheiro who spoke about approximately 60 cases accompanied by VdA and on the industry's concern about delays in the Commercial Courts.
