VdA announces two new partners: Isabel Gião de Andrade and Paula Gomes Freire.

With these two new partners VdA became the Portuguese independent firm with the highest percentage of female partners (30%). VdA has a similar percentage of female lawyers.

Isabel Gião Andrade holds an LL.M (Master of Laws) in European Law from the University College of London, a Post-graduation on Contracts Law from the School of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University of Porto and a Post-graduation on EC Competition Law from King's College of London. She joined VdA in 2010 and is currently the head partner of the firm's Oporto office. She has been mainly involved in corporate and commercial law, as well as general and specific advice in the scope of competition law.

Paula Gomes Freire holds Post-graduate studies in English Commercial Law by the College of Law, London University. She joined VdA in 1996 and has been involved in several transactions, in Portugal and abroad in the Banking & Finance practice group. She writes extensively in international specialized publications and speaks regularly at conferences such as the ABS global international conference which took place in Brussels in June where she was a guest speaker among banking & finance experts from all of Europe.
