António Magalhães Cardoso’s opinion article in Diário Económico newspaper

António Magalhães Cardoso wrote an article on “Patents, generic drugs and courts” published in Diário Económico’s supplement dedicated to Intellectual Property. In his article António Magalhães Cardoso states that “medicine patent holders have appealed to administrative courts as a last resource action resulting from the desperation in not managing to see their rights duly acknowledged and protected by the Lisbon Commercial Court.”

VdA’s lawyer further adds that, contrary to public opinion, “the number of generic drugs to have been suspended from entering the market by courts decisions amount to no more than 17 active ingredients”. “Too much ado about (almost) nothing” concludes the lawyer.
