On 27 and 28 March 2019, the 3rd Lisbon Vis Pre-Moot 2019 will be held at VdA's premises, a pre-moot of preparation for the final competition of Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the largest international commercial arbitration competition in the world.
The 3rd Lisbon Vis Pre-Moot 2019 is organized by the Under 40 Council of the Portuguese Arbitration Association (APA), of which Carla Gonçalves Borges (managing associate) is a Co-Chair, in partnership with VdA Academy with the support of VdA's Litigation & Arbitration practice.
Three Portuguese teams – the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL), the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University (FDUCP) and the Faculty of Law of the New University of Lisbon (FDUNL) - and one German team - the University of Leipzig – will compete.
This Pre-Moot will count with the participation of many lawyers and university professors, with vast experience in the commercial arbitration area, as referees and coaches.
Filipe Rocha Vieira and Joana Neves (managing associates) participate in this pre-moot, such as in the final stage of the competition in Vienna, as coaches for the FDUL team.
Miguel Pinto Cardoso (partner), Catarina Carvalho Cunha (managing associate), Matilde Líbano Monteiro, Pedro Pires Fernandes (senior associates) and the former participants in this competition, Leonor van Lelyveld and António Pestana Araújo (trainees), will act as arbitrators.
The final of the 26th edition of the Willem C. Vis Moot takes place in Vienna, from 12 to 18 April 2019.
