Miguel C.Reis participated in the Galicia–Northern Portugal International Summit 2026, an initiative organised by the Círculo de Empresarios de Galicia that brought together institutional and business leaders to discuss ways of strengthening the competitiveness of the Galicia–Northern Portugal Euroregion.

Held in Verín, the event focused on how to transform the long-standing cross-border cooperation between the two territories into greater business opportunities, investment, talent attraction and economic growth.

As part of the panel “A Borderless Economy: Building the Framework to Compete Together”, Miguel Reis joined Aldara Vázquez, Director of the Galicia–Northern Portugal EGTC, and Xosé Lago García, Deputy Director-General for External Action and Cross-Border Cooperation at the Xunta de Galicia, to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with economic integration between the two regions. The discussion explored the measures needed to facilitate business activity, support investors and remove the barriers that continue to limit the full integration of the cross-border economic space.

Under the theme “From Cooperation to Competing Together”, the third edition of the Summit provided a strategic platform to reflect on the future of cooperation between Galicia and Northern Portugal, bringing together business leaders, institutional representatives and experts to identify initiatives capable of driving greater scale, competitiveness and sustainable growth across the Euroregion.
