In this insight, the VdA lawyers address the concept of ethical banking, "often associated with microcredit financial activities, typical of developing countries". Unlike traditional banks, ethical banks promote social inclusion, sustainable development, development of social economy and social entrepreneurship. The authors clarify that these institutions follow a set of differentiating principles, such as: real economy, transparency inclusion, long-term robustness and customer orientation.
