Hugo Moredo Santos, Pedro Cassiano Santos, Tiago Correia Moreira, José Pedro Fazenda Martins, Ana Perestrelo de Oliveira and Orlando Vogler Guiné are part of the faculty of the X Postgraduate Course in Banking Law, promoted by the Private Law Research Centre of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
The course, which began in October and will continue until July, aims to address the main changes in Banking Law, both at European and national level. The topics covered include the consequences of financial crises, technological advances, sustainability, consumer protection and the new realities of the banking sector. New market players, products, services, risks and updates to regulatory structures are also addressed.
Throughout the course, VdA lawyers will be responsible for various sessions. Hugo Moredo Santos gave a lecture on ‘Supervision on an individual basis and supervision on a consolidated basis: criteria and consequences of consolidation’. Orlando Vogler Guiné addressed the topic of "Regulatory Capital. The implementation of the Basel III reforms: CRR III and CRD VI". Ana Perestrelo de Oliveira lectured on ‘The governance of banking groups “ and, in February, she will lecture on ”Credit institutions as “controlling creditors”?’. In March, Pedro Cassiano Santos will teach a class on ‘Structured finance’. In May, Tiago Correia Moreira will address the topic of ‘Blockchain “ and, in July, José Pedro Fazenda Martins will close the cycle with a lecture on ”Futures and options’.
