“Space as a Driver for Socioeconomic Sustainable Development”
Magda Cocco, head partner of the Aerospace sector, and Privacy, Data Protection, and Cybersecurity practice partner, is guest a speaker at the High Level Forum “Space as a Driver for Socioeconomic Sustainable Development”, organized jointly by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, the United Arab Emirates Space Agency and the Mohammed bun Rashid Space Centre, which takes place between November 20 and 24, in Dubai.
The partner speaks on the challenges associated with space policies in emerging countries. Magda is also panellist in the roundtable debate on the topic of partnerships with industries, private sector and non-governmental organizations.
The year 2018 will mark the 50th anniversary of the first United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space - UNISPACE+50. In line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and sustainable development goals, UNISPACE+50 aims to chart the future role of COPUOS.
Objectives of the United Nations/United Arab Emirates High Level Forum include the presentation of lessons learned and new ideas in the four thematic areas of space economy, space society, space accessibility and space diplomacy, and all their interactions and interlinkages. The Forum aims to produce a declaration with a set of recommendations to further shape and position space activities as drivers for innovation, socio-economic development and diplomacy for a sustainable future.
