Matilde Líbano Monteiro

Matilde Líbano Monteiro joined VdA in 2015. She is a Senior Associate of the Litigation & Arbitration practice area where she has been focusing on civil, corporate and commercial litigation, as well as domestic and international arbitration, including investment arbitration, both in Portugal and in Portuguese-speaking African countries like Angola, Mozambique or Cape Verde.

Matilde has been representing clients from a wide range of industries, including banking, energy, construction, infraestrutucture, telecommunications, health care, amongst others.

Matilde lectures in courses and speaks in seminars and conferences, in the fields of arbitration and civil procedure.

Law degree, Nova University of Lisbon, Faculty of Law.

Masters degree "Global Legal Studies", Portuguese Catholic University (Lisbon), Faculty of Law and Duke University Law School.

Advanced Postgraduate degree in Arbitration, University of Lisbon, Faculty of Law.

Before joining VdA, Matilde worked as advisor to the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transports and Communications, from March 2013 to March 2015, and as trainee and associate at Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados, between January 2009 and February 2013.
