VdA strengthens its presence in francophone Africa

As another step in the roll out of its international strategy, and to further develop its oil & gas practice, VdA has decided to expand its activity into Gabon by concluding a formal partnership with the local law office of “Cabinet Jules Obiang”. Cabinet Jules Obiang is based in the capital city of Libreville and oil hub Port-Gentil, and is a leading adviser to the largest investors and local companies operating in Gabon. Gabon is one of the largest oil producers in sub-Saharan Africa.

This initiative represents also a step towards advancing VdA’s reach in other African countries, such as Congo, DRC, Cameroon and Chad. The ability of our team to work in this part of the world with a deep knowledge of the local legal environment, culture and practices is a critical competitive advantage to our clients.

VdA Oil & Gas practice head Rui Amendoeira stated that, "with this partnership we formalise an ongoing work relationship with Cabinet Jules Obiang that we now happily bring into the VdA organisation." Francophone team head Matthieu Le Roux added that “this partnership offers to our clients an increased coverage in one of the most dynamic and fastest growing parts of Africa.”
