Paulo Olavo Cunha and Teresa Pitôrra are quoted in an article in Jornal Económico entitled "Real estate and tourism will lead restructuring in 2024".

The article analyses the increase in corporate restructuring operations in 2024, due to the end of the support measures implemented during and after the pandemic and the impact of inflation and interest rates in the last two years.

According to VdA's lawyers, the latest data "released by the Bank of Portugal points to a 2 per cent growth in the economy this year", with investment expected to grow by 3.6 per cent this year and 4.8 per cent on average in 2025-26. As a result of this growth, it is expected that there will be an increase in the number of "investors interested in participating in restructuring operations for companies that are viable and operating in sectors with good prospects".

Paulo Olavo Cunha and Teresa Pitôrra state that "these forecasts for investment growth in Portugal are therefore good indications for the restructuring segment, which is often a condition and develops in parallel with investment, essentially in the property and hotel sectors, which continue to lead investor interest".
