VdA took part in a new episode of Agroconnect – Agriculture of the Future, a videocast produced by Forbes Portugal Lab in partnership with the Global Agri Forum, focusing on the challenges and opportunities facing agribusiness across the Portuguese-speaking world.

Assunção Cristas joined the panel discussion ‘The Future of Agribusiness in the Portuguese-speaking World’, which brought together experts from different sectors to explore the potential of Portuguese-speaking countries as a space for cooperation, investment and sustainable development in the agri-food sector.

The discussion covered topics including food security, investment attraction, the importance of a stable legal and regulatory framework, and the role of infrastructure, innovation and knowledge transfer in the development of the sector across Portuguese-speaking markets.

In her remarks, the VdA Partner highlighted the agricultural potential of Portuguese-speaking African countries and emphasised that the sector’s development requires an integrated approach combining knowledge, technology, sustainability and partnerships between public and private stakeholders. She also noted that growing global demand for more sustainable food systems represents an opportunity for these markets to develop a more innovative, regenerative and competitive agricultural sector.
