VdA has been nominated for the African Legal Awards promoted by Legal Week and the Corporate Counsel Association of South Africa (CCASA) for the third year running.
VdA and RLA, an Angolan law firm and exclusive member of VdA Legal Partners, are the nominees for “Banking, Financing and Restructuring Team of the Year”. The nomination comes in recognition of the innovative and differentiating nature of the first medium term notes issue program implemented in Angola, which was a historic milestone in the Angolan securities market.
VdA Legal Partners is the nominee for “African Network/Alliance of the Year”, in recognition of VdA’s strategy for French-speaking Africa. Particularly noteworthy was the recent inclusion of Chad and Cameroon in VdA Legal Partners, and the setup of a practice area specializing in OHADA law. Also recognized is the sectoral specialization in the operations assisted by VdA and its partners in the different jurisdictions covered by VdA Legal Partners, in both Portuguese-speaking and French-speaking Africa, and in Timor Leste.
The awards distinguish outstanding achievements in the African legal community, which is currently living a period of great growth and diversification, and these nominations mark the recognition of the importance of VdA’s presence in Africa through our international network, VdA Legal Partners.
The award ceremony takes place on September 7 in Johanesburg, South Africa.
