On 10 September, Inês Antas de Barros will take part in the webinar “Data Protection, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Trust in Portuguese-Speaking Countries”, organised by AICEP.

The session will bring together experts from Angola, Mozambique and Portugal to discuss the challenges arising from the digitalisation of services and the adoption of new technologies in Portuguese-speaking countries.

The discussion will focus on the application of personal data protection regimes, as well as issues relating to the use of artificial intelligence, regulation and digital security.

Alongside Inês Antas de Barros, the webinar will feature Njunjulo J. António, Director of the Legal Office of the Angolan Data Protection Agency, and Lourino Alberto Chemane, Chair of Mozambique’s National Institute of Information and Communication Technologies. Representatives of authorities and organisations from other Portuguese-speaking countries will also take part.

The webinar will be held online, starting at 2.30 pm in Portugal and Angola, 3.30 pm in Mozambique, 12.30 pm in Cabo Verde, 1.30 pm in Guinea-Bissau and São Tomé and Príncipe, 9.30 pm in Macau and 11.30 pm in Timor-Leste.
