The principles of the Portuguese environmental framework law (Lei de Bases do Ambiente) rest unchanged for 22 years, according to an article published in the magazine ‘Água e Ambiente’, in which Pedro Ferreirinha highlights the insufficiency of the referred law considering the legislation meanwhile enacted, deriving from EU Directives - in particular, legislation referring to matters such as waste.
