Disputes in Africa increasingly settled via arbitration

Miguel Pinto Cardoso and Rui Andrade, Litigation & Arbitration practice partners, are interviewed by Iberian Lawyer in an article entitled “Disputes in Africa increasingly settled via arbitration”.

Miguel Pinto Cardoso states “The use of arbitration to settle disputes in Africa is on the rise due to the increase in international investment in the continent” and adds “companies are increasingly aware of the importance of arbitration clauses in order to ensure that cases will be heard in neutral territory”.

Rui Andrade predicts “more litigation cases coming from Africa, especially in markets that have rich natural resources.”
