José Sintra, Head of People Strategy at VdA, is quoted by RH Magazine in the context of an event organised by this magazine in partnership with the Urban Sports Club. The event brought together HR leaders and corporate well-being experts from six different organisations to share their experiences and practices of well-being in companies.
The article, entitled ‘Corporate Well-being: practices, challenges and impact on talent retention’, highlights the importance of well-being in the workplace for productivity, efficiency, innovation and talent retention. The publication refers a Harvard Business Review study which revealed that satisfied employees are 31 per cent more productive, 85 per cent more efficient and 300 per cent more innovative.
In this context, José Sintra emphasises the positive impact of well-being programmes on organisations, saying that ‘people create routines that allow them to build a more sustainable future. Taking care of yourself is taking care of your life’.
José Sintra explained that VdA has an independent budget for the well-being project (named We4Wellness), which has increased year on year, allowing for the creation of new benefits for employees. This programme has its own governance model and a team fully dedicated to managing relationships with employees and partners, which demonstrates the importance that VdA gives to human capital. Among the most important initiatives, José Sintra highlights the fully subsidised parental support sessions, financial guidance and sleep psychology counselling, reinforcing VdA's commitment to the well-being of its collaborators.
