In an increasingly demanding and fast-evolving legal landscape, VdA, in partnership with the Portuguese Centre for Foundations, has launched the programme 'Fundações 360°: Foundation Capacity Building Programme'.

This initiative aims to support the foundation sector in addressing growing challenges related to regulatory compliance, transparency, governance and risk management, through a structured legal training programme.

The first session will take place online on 21 May and will focus on 'The Lobbying Law applied to the Foundation Sector', led by Ana Festas Henriques and Andreia Oliveira Ferreira.

The session will explore the new legal framework for the representation of interests in Portugal, introduced by Law No. 5-A/2026, which establishes new transparency requirements with a direct impact on the activities of foundations.

Over the course of the programme, key areas such as data protection, public procurement, compliance, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, taxation and new funding models will be addressed, providing a practical and up-to-date perspective on essential topics.

More than a series of technical sessions, 'Fundações 360º' aims to establish itself as an ongoing platform for knowledge sharing and institutional strengthening within the sector, contributing to more robust, transparent organisations that are better prepared for contemporary challenges.
