Empower women to perform functions in Director and Supervisory Boards
Aiming for the contribution of promotion of gender equality, empowering women to perform functions in Director and Supervisory Boards, VdA Academia, promotes, in partnership with Porto Business School, ISEG and PWN Lisbon, the 3rd edition of Women on Boards Executive Programme, a programme that will take place on the 8th, 9th, 10th, 23rd and 24th of May in Lisbon.
During 5 days, management, legal and behavioural content will be addressed, providing the development of knowledge and skills in key areas for the successful pursuit of these functions. In a proximity and sharing register, participants will also have networking opportunities with Guest and KeyNote Speakers, getting to know their experience and the challenges they face as managers. Besides the broad range of VdA, Porto Business School and ISEG trainers, this programme will also count with the testimony of Vera Pinto Ferreira, executive director of EDP.
This programme contributes to the development of a broad, complete and essential knowledge matrix for the resolution of business practice situations.
In this regard, leading to an interaction of the Alumni of the 1st and 2nd edition of this executive programme, launched by VdA Academia in 2018, VdA also realized the 1st Annual Encounter of Women on Boards, founded in the principle mission of the Executive Programme Women on Boards. According to Margarida Couto, president of the VdA Academia, "this initiative intends to contribute to guarantee the continuous training of these women, strengthening their knowledge and developing their network of contacts. "
This event counted with a talk by Ana Pires, the first Portuguese Scientist Astronaut, about her journey into outer space, through her participation in the Possum, an investigation programme that studies the Noctilucent clouds and prepares astronauts for sub-orbital flights.
According to Benedita Aires, VdA partner and trainer of this initiative, “women should be increasingly facing outwards, doing more networking and establishing relevant professional relationships”.
