Vera Lúcia Raposo was one of the guest lecturers at the Post-Graduation course on Fundamental Rights offered by the Brazilian Institute for Criminal Science in partnership with the University of Coimbra Faculty of Law.

Vieira de Almeida & Associados (VdA)'s lawyer, MA in Biomedical Law, and PhD proponent in political and legal science at the University of Coimbra Faculty of Law, approached the theme of Biomedicine and Fundamental Rights in three lectures. Among the speakers were also Professor Vital Moreira and Professor Gomes Canotilho who approached "International Commerce and Human Rights" and "New issues regarding Human Rights", respectively.
Vera Lúcia Raposo is a member of the board of the Human Rights Center at the University of Coimbra (Jus Gentium) whose president is Vital Moreira. The invitation to lecture at IBCCRIM occured under the scope of this activity.

Vera Lúcia Raposo has produced numerous articles which have been published in Brasilian specialized publications such as Revista do Direito Médico e da Saúde (Health and Medical Law Review) and she is also the author of two books approaching the Brasilian reality which have been published in Brasil by Almedina. The book "A questão da constitucionalidade das patentes pipeline à luz da Constituição Federal Brasileira de 1988" was written together with professor J. G. Canotilho.
"These were very rewarding lectures as the audience was extremely interested and participative, partly because some of the issues approached, such as life will and medically assisted procreation are still under discussion in Brasil".
