From 21 May to 26 June, VdA, in partnership with MCT, is organising the course ‘Music, Copyright & Technology’ with the participation of VdA lawyers on the teaching staff.

This course aims to train students to understand the complexities of the modern music industry, while learning about the importance of intellectual property rights and the potential of technology to drive innovation and sustainable growth.

In this context, Tiago Bessa was responsible for the modules "Framework of Copyright", "Related Rights in Portugal"  and "Regulation of Digital Platforms". David Paula then lectured on ‘AV Production Contracts and Sponsorship Contracts’ and ‘Best Practice Contracts’. Beatriz Assunção Ribeiro gave a lecture on ‘IP Management and Contract-to-Order’, while João Riscado Rapoula and Rita Simão Luís addressed the topic of ‘Tax Concerns’, Maria Afra taught a class on ‘Accounting and Company Formation’, Pedro da Palma Gonçalves on ‘The Artist in the Market: Working Artist’, Iakovina Kindylidi gave a lecture on "AI Regulation" and "AI and Copyright and Related Rights" and, lastly, Inês Antas de Barros gave a lecture on "Ethics and Privacy in the Age of Hyperconnectivity".
