Assunção Cristas has given an interview to Águas do Algarve, in which she highlights the urgency of adopting a strategic and integrated approach to water resource management in Portugal.

In a context marked by increasing climate pressure, the VdA partner emphasises the need for anticipation and adaptation: 'water resilience lies at the heart of the ‘Água que Une’ Plan, which aims to equip Portugal with investments and tools that make us more capable of anticipating crises and withstanding climate instability affecting water resources'.

The interview also highlights the importance of diversifying water supply sources and strengthening efficiency in water management, noting that 'the diversification of water supply sources is now unavoidable'.

For Assunção Cristas, addressing current challenges also requires a shift in how water is valued: “it is now very clear that water will dominate our agenda in the coming years and will require additional attention and care'.

At a decisive moment, the VdA partner leaves a clear message: 'this is a time for a shift in paradigm and for action'.
