Catarina Pinto Correia and João Almeida Filipe have written an article entitled "Voluntary Carbon Market", published in the October edition of Vida Rural magazine.

In this article, the VdA lawyers reflect on the creation of the voluntary carbon market (VCM) in Portugal, regulated by Decree-Law No. 4/2024, which aims to "contribute to the fulfilment of national climate goals, in line with the objectives of the European Union and international commitments – such as the SDGs – Sustainable Development Goals", they explain.

The article discusses the challenges and measures still needed to fully implement this market, for which, according to the authors, it is essential to discuss the methodologies and involve experts and entities from the sector in order to guarantee the full operationalisation of the CVM.
