Tiago Bessa has written an article entitled "Challenges for the Electronic Communications Sector in 2024", published in the magazine of the International Association of Portuguese Expression Communications (AICEP).

In this article, Tiago Bessa analyses the main challenges that have emerged in the electronic communications sector this year. Among the highlights, Tiago Bessa emphasises Artificial Intelligence (AI), the consequences and the need to ensure privacy, security and ethics in the use of data. To achieve this, the author mentions the European Union's new AI Regulation as an important legislative milestone.

In addition, the VdA lawyer addresses the growing need to expand network coverage and connectivity, cybersecurity issues and institutional changes in the sector. On the national scene, Tiago Bessa highlights the promotion of Portugal as a mooring hub for international submarine cables and the start of the Digi operation.
