José Miguel Oliveira, Sara Alves Lourenço and Caio de Mello Ferreira represented VdA at the conference “Specialised Arbitration: Maritime Arbitration”, organised by PLMJ and CAM Lisboa – the Maritime Arbitration Centre of the CONCÓRDIA Association. The event took place on 2 July at PLMJ’s offices in Lisbon.

During the conference, José Miguel Oliveira spoke on the panel titled 'The Development of Maritime Trade and the Lisbon Maritime Arbitration Centre (CAM)'. In his presentation, he highlighted CAM’s potential as an effective alternative for resolving maritime disputes, both domestically and, above all, internationally – with a particular focus on Portuguese-speaking African countries.

This event fostered discussion on key topics in the sector, including the impact of the trade war on shipping disputes and the ongoing expansion of maritime trade – a sector that continues to attract substantial investment and is expected to grow further in the coming years.
