The RLA is one of the founding members of the Angolan- Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (“CCIAI”), a status shared with companies such as Banco Atlântico, Nossa Seguros, Invoia, Autostar Group, and many others. José Miguel Oliveira, managing associate, representing the RLA, assumed the Vice-Presidency of the Table of the General Meeting of the CCIAI, headed by Engineer Domingos Inglês, a distinct Angolan businessman with close links to Italy.

The launching event of the CCIAI took place on the 29th November, in Luanda’s fort, and counted with the presence of the Angolan Commerce Minister, the Secretary of State for Economic Affairs of Angola, the First Secretary at the Italian Embassy in Angola, the Consul of Angola in Italy, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AIPEX, the representative of ITA, and about 50 other businessmen of both countries.

It is also important to mention that Italy was the first European country recognizing Angola’s independence , that Paolo Gentiloni was the first head of government of a western country being greeted by the Angolan president, and that both countries have an existing Bilateral Investment Treaty, recently signed by various MoUs between Angola and Italy in the energetic domain (petrol & gas), defense, tourism and agriculture.
