Demystifying the Digital Services Act: What Changes for Businesses?

VdA, in partnership with APDC, will host the 6th session of Digital Union on 8 July at 09:30, dedicated to analysing the practical impact of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the new requirements applicable to companies providing digital services.

The DSA introduces a broad set of obligations for platforms and intermediary service providers — including marketplaces, hosting services, social networks and search engines — requiring organisations to review their policies, processes and digital governance models.

In a context where fines may reach up to 6% of annual turnover, it is essential to understand what is changing in practice and how to respond to the demands of this new regulatory framework.

Throughout the session, the following topics will be addressed:

• Who is covered by the DSA?
• What new obligations apply?
• How do ANACOM, the Portuguese Media Regulatory Authority (ERC) and the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD) operate?
• What risks should companies be concerned about?
• How can compliance be turned into digital trust?
