Elle possède une expérience considérable en matière de conseil sur les transactions privées transfrontalières de fusion et d'acquisition, ainsi que sur les questions de droit des sociétés, y compris les coentreprises, les réorganisations et les scissions, en se concentrant particulièrement sur les secteurs des télécommunications, des infrastructures et de la technologie, pour des clients internationaux stratégiques et des fonds de capital-investissement.

Avant de rejoindre le cabinet, Maria a travaillé à São Paulo, au Brésil, au sein du département M&A de Linklaters, fournissant des conseils juridiques à des clients internationaux, en se concentrant sur les fusions et acquisitions et les joint-ventures dans divers secteurs, ainsi que sur les transactions sur les marchés de capitaux internationaux.

Inscrite au Barreau Portugais, à la Law Society of England and Wales, en tant que solicitor, et au Barreau brésilien, comme conseillère en droit étranger (Portugal et England & Wales).
