Miguel Ventura
Miguel Ventura joined VdA in 2022. He is Of Counsel of Corporate and M&A practice and Head of Family Business and Governance practices.
With an academic background and professional experience in law and management, having held management positions in large companies and having gained a diploma in Corporate Governance from Insead, Miguel provides advice on governance matters in a diversity of projects, involving leading companies (both listed and family-owned) from several different sectors.
In addition to complex matters related to the review and structuring of organisational and governance systems, in line with a more traditional approach, he also works actively on ESG governance, in terms of both general topics and specific challenges, as well as cross-cutting projects for the automation of reporting obligations.
Before joining the firm he worked both as executive and non-executive board member in industrial sectors, shareholdings management, hotel business, real estate and electronic payments, including two listed companies in Portugal. Emphasis to an executive committee position on a listed holding company for more than 10 years with main responsibilities in legal and governance, and direct responsibilities in different M&A and capital market deals.
Before he also was company secretary and head of legal and had activity as a lawyer working with commercial and company law.
Among other activities, he was also a member of the General Council and Board of the Portuguese Issuers Association (AEM), a member of the Lisbon District Board of the Portuguese Bar Association, a member of the General Council of a non-profit Foundation and chairman of the general meeting of many companies.
Law degree University of Lisbon Faculty of Law.
