VdA was one of the 10 entities selected, and the only law firm, participating in this ambitious project for the national Defence sector, after a long competitive process that culminated with the establishment of the Cyber Academia and Innovation Hub (CAIH), a moment formalised through an official visit to the CAIH by the Minister of National Defence, on February 9th.

The establishment of the CAIH is a milestone for the future of the National Defence sector, especially in the field of cyber defence and cybersecurity.

The CAIH is an international Centre of Excellence, interconnecting Universities, Research Centres and Industry, and although it is a national initiative, it will promote relevant partnerships with the European Union, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), other States, associations of States and other international organizations such as the CPLP and the OECD.

VdA's proposal for participation in the creation of the Cyber Academy and Innovation Hub (CAIH) was prepared by a team coordinated by Ana Marta Castro (Partner), and included an extended team composed by Inês Antas de Barros (Partner), Sandra Pedro Serrano (Head of VdA Academia), Carolina Macias and Madalena Lopez Scarpa.
