Joaquim Pedro Lampreia, managing associate of the Tax practice, spoke to Diário Económico, a daily business newspaper in February 28, concerning tax debts and the logic of pledges, an article entitled as "Tax authorities pledge houses of 56.000 families and doesn't always recover the debt". Joaquim Pedro Lampreia says "when tax debts exist, the logic is to protect the community's interest and, therefore, the law establishes the pledge of any asset the person may have."
