Inês Antas de Barros wrote the article entitled "Cybersecurity in the insurance sector: How the regulation on the digital operational resilience of the financial sector is shaping the future", published by the Portuguese Insurers Association.

This article addresses the imminent implementation of the Digital Operational Resilience Act ("DORA") in the European Union (EU), approved in December 2022, in force since January 2023 and applicable throughout the EU as of January 17, 2025.

DORA aims to strengthen cybersecurity in the financial sector, covering insurance sector organisations, management companies, credit institutions, statutory auditors and audit firms.

Inês Antas de Barros' analysis clarifies the five fundamental pillars of this regulation, and the methodology that organisations should use to adapt their internal procedures to implement DORA.
