The new episode of the podcast "A quem de Direito", a partnership between VdA and Jornal Económico (JE), is now available. Entitled "Agribusiness attracts investors’ appetite", this fourth episode features Catarina Pinto Correia, who explains the regulatory environment of the agribusiness industry and the challenges that the sector faces in national and European law.

The ability to combine financial return with a positive social and environmental impact is attracting more and more investors to this sector. From this scenario, Catarina Pinto Correia describes the profile of the agricultural industry, as one that faces many challenges, but which has been able to adapt by taking advantage of the technological and digital opportunities.

"Climate change, biodiversity loss, water and soil quality, the need to produce more, and with a more sustainable and efficient use of resources, and the food emergency", are some of the biggest difficulties facing this sector, according to Catarina Pinto Correia. In addition, "we have a very dense regulatory framework of national and European policies, which has created many challenges, but which also brings many opportunities", says the VdA lawyer.

In this episode, Catarina Pinto Correia also addresses the opportunities that arise from the national and European policies, the role that VdA plays in framing agribusiness companies within sector’s regulations, and the opportunities and concerns that arise with the use of technology and the digitalisation of this industry.

The podcast "A quem de Direito" is promoted by VdA in partnership with Jornal Económico (JE). Each episode will cover topics such as agribusiness, governance, capital markets and Artificial Intelligence.
