"Deposits will become safer"
The next Government will be forced to produce legislation towards the reinforcement of the National Deposit Guarantee Fund (Fundo de Garantia de Depósitos)' capacity for reimbursement in case of banckruptcy, says Jornal de Negócios newspaper who quotes Paula Gomes Freire, VdA's Banking & Finance managing associate on the subject: "These measures aim to assure that, in case of banckruptcy of an institution, the National Deposit Guarantee Fund (Fundo de Garantia de Depósitos) is still able to assist other situations".
