Tiago Marreiros Moreira talks to Jornal de Negócios

Jornal de Negócios, in its 26 October edition collected the opinion of several Tax specialists, among which was Tiago Marreiros Moreira on the State Budget for 2012 in what concerns Taxes. In this regard, Vieira de Almeida & Associados (VdA)'s partner and head of the Tax area of practice stated that, in his opinion, "it was a shame to eliminate the tax benefit for investments in inland regions". The lawyer also points out some measures against tax evasion and fraud, such as "the increase of the statute of limitation period for assessing taxes that are related to off-shore companies, and the widening of the scope of the existing CFC rules".

As one of the most positive measures, Tiago Marreiros Moreira pointed out the clarification that the Portuguese holding companies' special tax regime was not a transitory regime.
