João Vieira de Almeida stated that ‘the crisis has not yet had tangible effects on law firms, which, generally speaking, I think have managed to accomplish the lion’s share of their 2008 objectives. However, it would be irresponsible not to prepare thoroughly for the inevitable impact that the crisis is likely to have on our sector, and above and beyond all that - on the planning and anticipation work for those measures deemed necessary - where the effect is already making itself felt.’
