Assunção Cristas and Magda Cocco will represent VdA at the 34th Prospective Meeting, which will take place from 8 to 11 September at the Convento da Arrábida, organised by the Prospective Institute, in collaboration with the Centre for Studies in Innovation, Technology and Development Policies of the Instituto Superior Técnico.

The theme of the meeting is ‘Science and Knowledge – a growing battlefield,’ and it will promote a reflection on the role of knowledge and international cooperation in a fragmented multilateralism and socially polarised context.

On 8 September, Magda Cocco will speak on the panel 'Prospects for the evolution of public finances and investment in science and innovation at a global level in a scenario of growing uncertainty and the widespread use of Artificial Intelligence'.

On 10 September, Assunção Cristas will join the panel 'Science and Environmental Security – Planetary Boundaries, Coastal Zones – Land Use, Soil Monitoring and Carbon Observation'.

The Prospective Meeting is a unique platform for debate, bringing together national and international experts to anticipate trends and reflect on the major societal challenges and the future of Portuguese society in the global context.
