VdA will take part in the Financial Crime Course, an initiative organised by the NOVA Criminal Law Students’ Society, taking place from 17 to 20 November. The programme brings together several professionals with experience in financial crime, offering a practical, up-to-date and multidisciplinary perspective on the main challenges posed by this type of criminal activity.
The opening session will be led by Sofia Ribeiro Branco, Partner at VdA, and will focus on ‘Financial Crime in the Private Sector’. Her presentation will address the specific risks faced by the private sector and the applicable criminal law framework, contributing to an informed and practice-oriented discussion.
Throughout the course, speakers will discuss emerging trends in this field and examine how the legal system is responding to the growing complexity of financial crime.
