Nadine Gomes, Tax Associate and NOVA Tax Research Lab Junior Researcher, will participate in the Annual Conference “Taxing, Fast and Slow. A New Era in International Taxation”, taking place on 9 and 10 October in Lisbon.

On 9 October, she will present the paper “Is the proposed European Digital Services Tax fair?”, co-authored with Catarina Gomes Correia.

This year’s edition of the conference will explore the main challenges and opportunities in international taxation amid a rapidly evolving global landscape. The programme features discussions on the implementation of the OECD Pillars, the role of the United Nations Model Tax Convention in global tax governance, the future of digital economy taxation, and the relationship between geopolitics and taxation, with a focus on topics such as tariffs, sanctions, and international fiscal instruments.
