VdA participated in the Monaco Ocean Week, an annual initiative launched in 2010 by Prince Albert of Monaco and co-organized by the Oceanographic Institute - Prince Albert I Foundation of Monaco, and the Prince Albert II Foundation of Monaco, which brings together key players in the field of ocean conservation, in a debate on the main challenges they will face in the future.
Assunção Cristas participated in the Blue Economy Round Table in which she debated the topic "Fishing: Challenges and Opportunities for Ocean Sustainability", which brought to discussion the problem of overfishing and its effects on biodiversity, the Marine Protected Areas as a tool for biomass control and conservation, the role of financial markets and carbon credits, among other relevant issues in this context.
Monaco Ocean Week will take place from 20 to 26 March.
