The 7th edition of the international award promoted by VdA Academia has made the headlines in Portuguese media, highlighting the extension of the award to now include 26 countries and the theme of this year’s edition: “Social Networks: Freedom’s Rights and Limits”.

This award, launched in partnership with Almedina publishers, is aimed at recognising legal research projects developed by university law students from Portugal, other Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as from OHADA countries (Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa).

After its extension, in 2017, to also include the 17 OHADA member states, the VdA Academia International Award now encompasses 26 countries, spanning four continents.

The winner of the VdA Academia Award is awarded a prize of € 3.000 (three thousand euros), and honourable mentions may also be awarded in the amount of € 1.000 (one thousand euros).
