Olivier Bustin (managing international adviser) writes an article with Sirifou Baldé on Senegal’s New Petroleum Code for L’Essentiel publication.

This new code replaces the one created in 1998, keeping up with the current trend of reform in this sector (Benin, Cameroon and Gabon have updated their Petroleum Codes).

These changes aim to modernize the legal framework regulating activities in the field of investigation and production of hydrocarbons, with the drive to attract investment to fulfil the promises made regarding this sector, that have a vast potential for the country and to ensure the state’s and the population’s interests.
