Samuel Fernandes de Almeida (Partner) is quoted in an article on ECO online newspaper on the planned changes to IRS brackets to be introduced in the next State Budget and what implications these changes will have on household budgets.

"The split will theoretically result in the creation of new brackets and a potential reduction in the marginal rates of IRS for a set of taxpayers and consequent reduction of progressivity in the higher or intermediate income brackets, which is a measure of elementary justice as the marginal rates of IRS in Portugal are very high, even though only 55% of households had IRS paid in 2019″.
