Joaquim Pedro Lampreia (Partner) is quoted in an article in the newspaper Jornal de Negócios, on how changes in the law will mean that investment funds in research and development will have "tighter" rules to continue to have benefits given under the Tax Incentives System for Business Research and Development (SIFIDE).

Asked whether retroactivity may violate the Constitution, the lawyer says: "There are companies planning investments until the end of this year, counting on the law in force. It is clearly unconstitutional and will generate litigation with the State. The investor from the moment he invested acquired the right to the benefit, it cannot now be restricted."
