Ricardo Bordalo Junqueiro (Partner) and Maria Folque (Principal Consultant and Pro Bono Legal Manager) write an article for Jornal Económico newspaper, where they sharesome thoughts on the role of Competition Law in addressing sustainability agreements between undertakings.

"In 2015, the UN countries approved the 2030 Agenda in which there are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among these are poverty eradication, reducing inequalities, sustainable production and consumption, promoting gender equality, access to green energy at a reasonable price, access to water and sanitation, fighting climate change, among others. (...) It turns out that while several studies suggest that companies are willing to collaborate in achieving the 2030 Agenda, it is not clear that competition rules allow certain partnerships between competitors to make the world more sustainable."
