Américo Oliveira Fragoso (managing associate) comments an article on Expresso newspaper on the current trend being practice by companies by increasing benefits to stop rising people’s income.
The managing associate states that “although it’s not illegal, this practice carries issues by not protecting the workers. From a legal point of view, the concept of wage implies an asset nature (a payment, a value), has to be a compensation for their work, has to have orderliness and frequency. Everything that fulfills these requirements qualifies as retribution and cannot be reduced.”
